Door striker plate is misaligned
The door striker plate is the part of the door frame that the door latch connects to. If the plate is misaligned, the door will not close properly. There can be undue stress put on the door when it is closed, as the alignment of the door is warped.

Door Feels or Sounds Loose
A misaligned striker plate will alter the resting position of the door. This can put abnormal stress on the hinge, causing it to bend. This will make the door easier to move when closed, producing a loose feeling or sound.
