Defective wiring in the oil system

A defective wire in the oil system may send the wrong signal to the oil pressure gauge. The electrical current from the oil pressure sensor may be distorted, causing the oil gauge to fluctuate.

Oil Gauge Fluctuates

The oil gauge displays the oil pressure at any given time. It works by receiving an electrical current from the oil pressure sensor. The current then moves the needle on the gauge depending on the pressure level. If this current is distorted by a defective wire, the current may pulsate, causing the needle to rise and fall with the current.
