Manual Transmission Will Not Shift Into Gear

A defective gearshift will prevent the driver from selecting one or any gear. The transmission may be stuck on one gear, in which case the gearshift is no longer responding. The gearshift may also become more difficult to move if it is binding to other parts. It may become easier to move if it is broken off from the rest of the transmission.
