Defective ECU
The ECU is the vehicle's main computer. It makes many adjustments based on inputs it receives from various sensors. If it is defective, the engine systems, such as fuel delivery, may not run properly.

Symptoms
Engine Stalls
The ECU monitors many of the vehicle and external conditions and makes adjustments to maintain things like a proper fuel to air ratio. If the ECU is defective, it may alter the fuel/air mixture incorrectly. This can cause the engine to have too much or too little fuel for proper combustion. The engine will not be able to maintain momentum and stall.
Dashboard Indicator Lights Are On
A defective ECU can trigger a false warning light on the dashboard, particularly the "Check Engine" light.
