Defective clutch linkage
The clutch linkage is the set of parts from the clutch pedal to the clutch release bearing. If it is damaged or disconnected, the driver will be unable to change gears.

Inability to change gears
If the clutch linkage is defective, the driver will be unable to change gears. If the vehicle is stuck in one gear, or cannot engage any gear, the clutch linkage may be damaged or binding.
