Causes

Malfunctioning Throw Out Bearing

The throw out bearing separates the clutch disc and flywheel. If it is not returning to its starting position, it may prevent the clutch disc from engaging with the flywheel.

Defective Pressure Plate

The clutch pressure plate presses the clutch disc against the flywheel. A broken spring in the plate will prevent it from applying the proper force to keep the disc and flywheel engaged.
