A bent axle can cause a wheel to wobble. This may create a side to side motion at low speeds and vibration at high speeds.

Impact or Collision

In order to bend an axle a certain amount of force must occur to the vehicle. A car crash or hitting a bump at high speed may bend an axle.

Heavy Load

Carrying extremely heavy object may also exert enough force to bend an axle.
