V-Type Engine

A V-type engine is an engine in which the cylinders are aligned in two rows at an angle. Looking dead on, they would form a V, at the bottom of which is the crankshaft. Engines with this type of arrangement are usually referred to by a V and the number of cylinders, such as V-8.
