Transmission Input Shaft

The transmission input shaft is the shaft that leads into the transmission gearbox. The input shaft is connected to the crankshaft by the clutch in manual transmissions or torque converter in automatic transmissions. When connected, the input shaft rotates with the crankshaft, delivering the engine power to the transmission.
