Throttle
A throttle is a device that regulates the amount of fuel-air mixture that enters the cylinders. This is what controls the power of the engine. If the throttle is closed, less of the mixture enters the cylinders, thereby reducing the force on the pistons. If the throttle is open, more of the mixture enters and creates more force on the pistons upon combustion.
