Suspension Coil Spring

A coil spring in the suspension system is a large, wound spring that absorbs and cushions the automobile while driving. It looks like a bed spring, but is much thicker. Coil springs are usually found near the front wheels, but they can be located near the rear wheels. A shock absorber is often placed in the center of the spring.
