Short in battery wiring

A defect in the battery wiring can prevent it from recharging. The battery is connected to the alternator, which recharges it as the engine runs. If the wires that lead to the battery are defective, the current may not be flowing to the battery. If the battery dies, and can be jump started, then the issue probably lies with the wiring or the alternator. If the battery cannot be jump started, or cannot be charged by an external source, the battery is likely defective.

Battery Runs Out of Power Quickly

If the battery wires are defective, the vehicle will use all of the power in the battery during operation without recharging it. With the failure to charge the battery during driving, all engine operations will draw their power from the current charge of the battery. It will continuously wear down until all its power is exhausted.
