Pedal Free Play

Pedal free play is the amount of movement a pedal makes before the associated action takes place. For example, the brake pedal may be pushed half an inch before the brake system is activated. The free play ensures that various systems have enough range of motion to return to a state of rest and complete the full movement of an action.
