Intake Stroke

The intake stroke is one of the movements in the four stroke engine cycle. It begins when the piston is at top dead center. The exhaust gases have just been expelled. The intake valve opens, and the piston descends. This movement creates a vacuum in the combustion chamber, drawing in the fuel/air mixture.
