Engine bearings worn
The engine bearings surround the crankshaft journals to dampen the impact of the connecting rods. Worn bearings can reduce the oil pressure as the oil circulation is impeded.

Symptoms
Engine Makes Noise
Since the engine bearings cushion the movement of the pistons, if they are worn, there may be an squeak, knock, or grinding noise coming from the engine. If the pace of the noise matches the RPMs, the bearings may be worn.
Low Oil Indicator Light Comes On
As oil circulates through the engine, more of it may be caught in the bearings. With the restricted oil flow, the low oil light may be illuminated. This produces low oil pressure in the system.
