Brake Booster

A brake booster is an instrument in vehicles with power brakes that amplifies the force applied on the brake pedal to the master cylinder. There are two common types of brake boosters: vacuum and hydroboost. A vacuum brake booster uses the engine vacuum and atmospheric pressure to power the booster. A hydroboost brake booster uses hydraulic pressure from a vehicle's power steering system to power the booster.
