Baffle

A baffle is a device used to obstruct or deflect the flow of gases, liquid, or sounds. An example is in the gas tank, where plates with holes in them, divide the tank into sections. The gas is able to move through the entire tank, but it cannot slosh around freely. As fuel is consumed, the level in the tank remains the same as the fuel flows through the holes.
