Hole in exhaust pipe

A hole in the exhaust pipe may cause an increase in the noise leaving the exhaust. This problem may also be related to a hole in the muffler.

Exhaust Abnormally Loud

An increase in volume of the noise exiting the exhaust system may be a result of a hole in the tailpipe. The muffler should also be checked out, as it is the primary method of dampening the engine sound.
