Headlight relay electromagnet is weak

If the headlight relay uses an electromagnet to complete the circuit, a weakening of the electromagnet may not be able to hold the armature in place. This can result in the headlights flickering or turning off and on as the magnet pulls the armature close but cannot overcome the the tension to hold it in place.

Headlights Flicker

Flickering headlights can be a result of a break in the electrical current to the headlights. If the relay is not functioning properly, it may only periodically complete the circuit. The lights will come on and go off in accordance with the operation of the relay.
