Faulty ABS wiring

Faulty wiring in the ABS can trigger a false warning and disable the anti-lock brakes. The ABS uses sensors, such as a wheel speed sensor, to determine if the anti-lock brakes need to be activated. If the signal from these sensors is interrupted by a faulty wire, the ABS may be disabled.

ABS Light Comes On

Vehicles equipped with anti-lock brake systems have a warning light that tells the driver the system is nonoperational. If there is a faulty wire in the system, the ABS control unit may not be receiving information from a wheel speed sensor. The ABS will be turned off, and the light will be illuminated.
