Excess play in a wheel bearing

Excess play in a wheel bearing can cause the wheel to lean. This lean can create excess pressure on brake components, which may cause them to bind.

Brakes Lock Up

If the brakes are locking up at random intervals, a wheel bearing may be moving too much. This will cause the wheel to lean and press against the brake components. As the brakes face additional pressure, they may be force to activate, causing a lock up.
