Broken motor/transmission mount

A broken engine or transmission mount will increase the vibration of the engine and can lead to further damage. The engine mounts are made of rubber or other impact absorbing material and dampen the vibration caused by the engine as it runs. If the mounts are broken, the engine can start to shake as it runs. This can lead to more expense repairs. The mounts can wear out under normal wear and should be replaced around every 100,000 miles or 10 years. Rubber mounts can deteriorate over time and may appear intact, but are unable to absorb vibrations.
