Battery shorted

If the battery has a short circuit, the voltage output will increase and can cause the battery to heat up. This can be very dangerous as the battery could leak, crack, or even explode. If a vehicle gauge is reading high voltage, this could be the cause.

Battery Gauge Always High

If the battery gauge is always high, the battery may have a short circuit. The electrical current is not broken between the positive and negative terminals, and it is cycling through the battery.
