Table of Contents

Construction

The condenser is comprised of a coiled tube covered by fins that allow air to pass through it. Condensers are generally made of aluminium. It is generally located in front of the radiator.

Operation

Refrigerant in gas form is pressurized by the compressor. The gas then travels though the pipes of the condenser. As air passes through the condenser, refrigerant loses heat and condenses into a liquid. The refrigerant is the stored in a dehydrator before continuing on to the evaporator.
