Hubcap misaligned or loose

A hubcap that is loose or misaligned can rub up against the tire or wheel an produce a noise. Depending on the attachment, a loose hubcap will produce a noise at random intervals. A misaligned hubcap will produce periodic noise.

Wheels Make Noise While Driving

If the hubcap is rubbing against the tire or wheel, when the vehicle is in motion, the friction will produce a noise. If the hubcap is rubbing against the tire, it will produce a rubbing or grinding noise. If it is rubbing against the wheel, it can also produce a squeak or squeal.
