Horn Switch Intermittently Operates

If the horn switch is operating intermittently, the horn will only sound once in a while. The horn circuit is not being completed every time the horn switch is pressed. This can be caused by a defective switch, relay or wires.

Horn Only Sounds Once in a While

If the horn works only some of the time, the switch may completing the circuit periodically. When the circuit is completed, the horn will sound, otherwise pressing the switch will have no effect.

Causes

Defective Horn Relay

A defective horn relay will prevent the circuit from being completed. The relay may permit the current to flow periodically, allowing the horn to work some of the time. See defective horn relay.
