A failing headlight switch may not be able to maintain the electrical circuit between the headlights and the battery. This can result in the headlights turning off at random or flickering.

Headlights Flicker

If the headlight switch is failing, the electrical current will be interrupted periodically. This will result in the headlights receive pulses of electricity. When the electricity goes through the bulbs, they are illuminated. Once the current stops, the bulbs fade. This can happen rapidly or slowly.
