Faulty wheel speed sensor

A faulty wheel speed sensor can send the wrong wheel rotation rate to the ABS control module. This will illuminate the ABS warning light, not to be confused with the brake warning light. The ABS may also be engaged at the wrong time as the ABS control module receives the wrong wheel speed readings.
