Door linking rods are unattached

The door linking rods, or cables on some vehicles, connect the door handle to the latch. When the handle is pulled, the rods transfer the motion to the latch, releasing it and opening the door. If the rods are unattached, the door latch will not receive the motion from the handle. See door handle is unattached.

Door Will Not Open

The door linking rods, or cables, provide the connection of the door latch to the handle. If the rods are unattached, the latch cannot be released with a pull of the handle. This will prevent the door from opening when the handle is pulled.
