Defective fuel injectors

A defective fuel injector will be unable to deliver fuel to the combustion chamber. The engine will lose power and can eventually stall.

Symptoms

Engine Stalls

The engine is run by the repeated motion of the pistons. If the fuel is not delivered, the engine may lose the power to maintain its motion and stall. This may be more apparent during acceleration as more fuel will be consumed. If the fuel is not delivered, the acceleration will cause the engine to stall.

For more info, see four stroke power cycle.
