Broken wires from battery to starter

Wires that run from the battery to the starter motor deliver the power needed to start the engine. If these wires are broken or disconnected, the starter will not have enough power to turn the crankshaft and start the the engine.

Table of Contents

Causes

Bad Wire

A wire that has been damaged, or is no longer adequate, will not be able to deliver the necessary power to the starter motor.

Disconnected Wire

A wire that is disconnected from the starter motor will prevent the starter from receiving power.

Corroded Wire or Connection Points

If corrosion builds up on the wire, or the points where the wires connect, the current may not be able to reach its destination efficiently.
